When will Diablo 4 release? Since the Reaper of Souls, last major series release four years ago, Diablo IV has finally been announced in BlizzCon 2019.
Even though the existence of the game is confirmed, but it seems that it won’t be coming out soon. From the interview of Luis Barriga, game director, he explains that “a game of this scope takes time” and the game won’t be “coming out soon”.
Diablo 4 will be set after Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls. The gates of heaven have been closed after Malthael, the Angel of Death, destroyed much of Sanctuary.
An excerpt in a Diablo art book leak suggests that Lilith, the daughter of Mephisto and canonical mother of humanity, will be returning and is set lose from her prison.
Diablo 4 Game Play
Blizzard has given us a look at some gameplay. Diablo 4 will focus on the darker horror, medieval ,gothic and beset by demons. there will be expansions in Diablo 4, including:
- An open-world with 5 regions filled with other players which they can group up, trade or PVP in designated areas.
- No loading screens between dungeons.
- Plans for customiseing player’s skill slots.
While it hasn’t been confirmed, Blizzard admits it is “very excited” about the idea of Diablo 4 cross-play.
Diablo 4 Classes
So what exactly are the classes in Diablo 4? We now only know there will be 5 classes in the first patch and it is confirmed the return of the Barbarian, the Druid and the Sorceress, there will be two new classes which have not been revealed will be coming. Just like Diablo 3, each class will have its own skill and talent trees with customization options.
Micro-transactions in Diablo 4?
At BlizzCon 2019, Twitch streamer Quin69 asked Joe Shely, the lead designer of Diablo 4 how Blizzard will monetize the game. Shely replied, “Diablo 4 will be available as a base game, and… we’re going to have expansions. You also will be able to acquire cosmetics in the game.” It is likely that microtransactions could be a part of Diablo 4.
