Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout, a party game vibe which has sold over two million copies on Steam since its launch on August 2020, is a massive multiplayer party game with up to 60 players online in a free-for-all struggle through round after round of escalating chaos until one victor remains.
There are over 20 game modes and we will introduce all of them to you in this article. Let’s get started!
As its name suggests, Race Rounds are races from starting line to finish line. Players have to complete with each other to dodge obstacles and reach the finish line as quickly as they could.
Falling off the track would not eliminate players, instead they would respawn at the last checkpoint and be able to continue the race. Below are the 9 game modes under Race Rounds:
1. Dizzying Heights
Navigate the obstacles and race to the finish line! There are four sections in this game mode, spinning discs, a boulder chute, elevated spinning discs, and a final combination of boulders and spinning stairs.
2. See Saw
Run and balance across rows of see-saws to reach the finish line! There are series of giant see-saws in this game mode, players have to race through those see-saws which adds weight to either half of it when more players get onto a platform. Try titling it towards the heaviest side and cross the platform to finish the race as quickly you can.
3. Door Dash
Break through doors and race to the finish line – some are real, some are fake! Players have to run through a number of identical doors to the finish line. While some of them are real, quite a lot of them are fake. It’s a trial and error process that players have to crash through them to tell if the doors are real or fake.
4. Hit Parade
Navigate through obstacles and race to the finish line! Players have to race through 5 obstacles to the finish line, including beams, spinning barriers, swinging wrecking balls, and a slimy hill.
5. The Whirlygig
This is a round of whirling, twirling obstacles that would knock players off the track. Keep calm and patient, try dodging all obstacles and race to the finish line as quickly as possible.
6. Tip Toe
Tiptoe is a game mode that requires players to memorize the path to finish line and outwit the competition. It’s also a trial and error process for players to discover the secret path. Players will respawn if they fall off. During the race, players would push each other onto the squares to find out which ones are traps and which ones are safe to step on. Let others to take the first step for you might be the best strategy for winning in this game mode.
7. Fruit Chute
Dodge the flying fruits and race up to the conveyor belt and reach the finish line! That’s what this game mode is about. The rules are strict-forward but the game is not as simple as it looks. Be prepared to get crushed by gigantic fruits.
8. Gate Crash
Avoid the moving doors and race to the finish line! Players have to race to finish line and try to squeeze through a series of moving doors and sliding gates.
9. Slime Climb
Players need to avoid the deadly obstacles and rising slime during the race. They will be eliminated immediately if they falls off the map. Usually only 5 to 10 players could advance in this game mode as it requires pinpoint control and thorough understanding of the map.
Players need to fulfill the qualification requirement by hunting down other players. Unlike race round, it depends more on the player’s skill and strategy other than luck.
Some players start with tails, some don’t. Players without tails can touch down tail-owning players and capture their tails. The goal is to be one of the players wearing a tail when the time runs out.
Instead of running around and dodging obstacles, player needs to focus on their brain power and logic.
As its name suggests, it is a memory-based elimination game. Players will be dropped into a square tile in which different fruit icons were hidden underneath. Location of specific fruit icons shown on screen will be revealed on the tile.
Once the countdown reaches zero, fruit icons will be shown on screen and players have to jump to the tile that matches the icons quickly. Players will be eliminated if they step on the wrong fruit icon.
It’s now a team game, rather than just playing solo. Players will be assigned to a team and need to work with others and win as a team in order to advance.
Keep balls in your area to earn points for your team! Players will be separated into three teams, and your goal is to push as many balls as possible into your team’s zone. Try to get the balls moving with your teammates!
Score goals by getting balls into the opposite team’s goal – work together to get the win! It is a football-like game with two goals, and two balls. Players will be assigned into two teams, and your goal is to help your team get more goals than the other team.
Players will be assigned into three teams, the objective is to put the most eggs in your team’s basket before the time runs out! Eggs are gathered in the center of the playground before game start, and players rushes to grab eggs to their team’s basket. Stealing eggs from other teams is also part of the game, as the team with least amount of eggs will be eliminated.
Team Tail Tag
Players will be divided into four teams, with sixteen tails distributed among the teams randomly. This round is all about grabbing tails from the other teams. Make sure your team has more tails than the rest when the time runs out!
Rock ‘N’ Roll
Players will be assigned randomly into three teams to roll a gigantic ball to the finish line. Members in the slowest team will be eliminated. Rock ‘N’ Roll is an entertaining game mode as the two teams finsished first usually disturb members on the remaining team like blocking their way or pushing back their team’s ball.
Players will be assigned into two teams randomly, all team members would be eliminated if the team is completely jinxed. Try not to get jinxed and survive at the end of the game. If you get jinxed unluckily, you could still help your team by using the floating pink cloud around you to grab opponents and get them Jinxed!
Survival rounds are free-for-all challenges which knocks out players during the race. Dodge a series of obstacles long enough and race to the finish line as quickly as you can.
Move between rotating rings to avoid falling onto the slime! Player have to race through a set of cylinders spin and keep from falling off to gaps, walls and bumpers.
All players will start at the same floor and blocks will constantly come up in random shapes, they will push players off and eliminate them. This game mode is particularly intense as players will pay full effort to grab others at survival.
There is just one challenge left for you to win the game!
Reach the top of the mountain first and grab the crown to win the game! It is a free-for-all race with several spinning obstacles set in the arena, dodging all of them and grab the crown at the top of the mountain first to win!
Several layers of floor will disappear after players jump onto surface of the hex. Players need to run constantly as the hex will disappear once they have step on it. One strategy is try to reach the bottom floor first and walk around to have better control instead of jumping randomly. Players will be eliminated if they falls off.
Similar to Tail Tag race, but there is only one tail in the game. Your goal is to grab the tail and make sure you’re wearing it when the time runs out!
Graphics and Hardware
Compare with other FPS games, the hardware requirement for Fall Guys is not that demanding. The recommended hardware requires an Intel Core i5-2500K central processing unit, an Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 graphics card, 8GB of RAM, 2GB of storage, and Windows 10 operating system. Besides PC, Fall Guys is also available on PS4.
Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout, a party game vibe that has its own ludicrously fun way for players to race in different game mode. Although the game is so charmingly silly, it still filled with genuinely dramatic moments, heartbreaking losses, and last-second acrobatic feats.
